Seed data in the corpus. 5,211 of 5,213 respondents (99.9%) are generated, not people, and they are counted in every figure on this site — the map, the nation atlas, the blocs and the phenotype shares alike. Figures here are therefore not yet a measurement of any population. Real answers are being collected alongside them and this notice shrinks as they arrive. How the seed was built →

Does how you live predict what you think?

Every respondent answers two batteries: what is true of their life, and what they believe. Holding both for the same person lets us ask the question this site was built for — and to ask whether the answer is the same everywhere.

Cross-tabulations are exploratory. 60 comparisons were run, so a false-discovery-rate correction is applied across the whole family — the q column, not the raw p, is what should convince you. Effect size is shown next to every result because with enough respondents everything becomes "significant".

Why this is the interesting half

Plenty of surveys measure opinion. Plenty measure living conditions. Very few hold both for the same person across many countries at once, which is what makes the following answerable:

We do not know the answers. That is the point of collecting the data rather than assuming them.
