Seed data in the corpus. 5,211 of 5,213 respondents (99.9%) are generated, not people, and they are counted in every figure on this site — the map, the nation atlas, the blocs and the phenotype shares alike. Figures here are therefore not yet a measurement of any population. Real answers are being collected alongside them and this notice shrinks as they arrive. How the seed was built →

Everything here is free.

Not free-for-now, not free-with-limits. Every feature on DataRadio is available to everyone, without an account, in every country.

Why it has to be free

This is a methodological requirement, not generosity.

If storing your answers cost money, the people whose answers persisted would be the people who hold payment cards — which skews rich, urban, banked and Western. Our long-run respondents would drift toward exactly the population that already dominates global polling, and every figure on the site would inherit that drift.

A paywall on persistence would manufacture the precise bias this site exists to expose. So there isn't one, and there won't be.

  • The findings — conditions and work against politics
  • The live stream and the members map
  • The complete item bank

How it gets paid for

Two tiers. Neither one buys a better number.

Supporter
$0.99per month, entirely optional

Buys you nothing. That is the point — if supporters got better data, the incentive to keep the free tier honest would start eroding the day the first one signed up.

What it does buy is server time, translation review by native speakers, and the population data the weighting runs on.

Cancel any time, no argument.

Pollster
$2.99per month · run your own topics

Put your own questions into the field. What this pays for is the scarce thing on a poll — respondent attention — and the review that keeps both sides of an item written fairly.

  • Put your own questions into the field
  • Live streaming dashboard for every topic you run
  • Your topics read first, ahead of the open queue
  • Results public like every other item — never yours alone

Anyone can propose a topic for free; this fields yours.

Bulk export, an API, custom cross-tabulations, and methodological support for citing the data properly.

This is where the money should come from. Charging organisations that can afford it, rather than the respondents whose participation makes the data worth anything, is the only funding model that doesn't distort the sample.

Whatever the funding, one rule does not move: a supporter's answers are weighted exactly like everyone else's, and no published figure is computed differently for anyone who pays. If that ever changed, the numbers would be worthless — including to whoever paid for them.
